Just a year ago, he was an integral part of the Iowa State coaching team, but an opportunity arose to join the NFL's Detroit Lions, and he couldn't resist. During his introductory press conference, Roehl expressed his gratitude and excitement, highlighting the vision and culture of the Lions organization.
However, fate has an interesting way of turning tables. Roehl is now returning to Iowa State, but the familiar faces are gone. Matt Campbell, the former head coach, has moved on to Penn State, leaving a new coach, Jimmy Rogers, to take the reins. It's a fresh start for Roehl, but it also raises questions about the stability of coaching staffs and the impact of such changes.

So, who might fill Roehl's shoes? The most logical candidate is Seth Ryan, currently the assistant tight ends coach. He's been with the Lions since 2021 and has the experience and knowledge to step into the role. But will he be able to navigate the challenges that come with such a dynamic position?
