Imran Khan is alive, but the silence surrounding him has sparked a storm of speculation. Rumors of his death shook social media this week, but a senior member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party insists they are completely false. According to PTI Senator Khurram Zeeshan, Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, is very much alive and being held at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.
Zeeshan explained that Khan’s strict isolation isn’t random—it’s part of a calculated move by the current regime to pressure him into leaving the country. Speaking to ANI from Pakistan, the senator accused the authorities of being deeply uneasy about Khan’s enduring popularity. “They fear his influence,” Zeeshan said. “That’s why no pictures or videos of him have been released to the public.”
The uncertainty grew earlier in the week when several Afghan social media accounts claimed that Khan had been killed inside the prison. Adding fuel to the rumor mill, Pakistani officials have reportedly denied Khan’s sisters access to visit him for over a month—even though the courts have ordered otherwise. Zeeshan called the situation a “blatant human rights violation.”
“It’s been nearly a month since he’s been kept in complete isolation,” he told ANI. “Neither his family nor his lawyers, not even senior PTI leaders, have been allowed to see him. This is a clear attempt to break his spirit or coerce him into some kind of decision.” But Zeeshan was firm in his reassurance: “We’ve now received official assurances—he’s alive, he’s okay, and still in Adiala Jail.”
When asked about reports that the government is offering Khan a deal, Zeeshan made a startling claim: authorities allegedly want him to quietly leave Pakistan. “They are trying to negotiate, offering him leniency and freedom abroad if he agrees to stay silent,” he revealed. “But that’s not who Imran Khan is. He’s never been the kind of leader to abandon his principles or flee his country.”
Despite being behind bars, Khan’s influence hasn’t faded—it’s arguably grown stronger. PTI continues to attract massive support from Pakistan’s youth, reflecting a movement that now transcends generations. “These difficult times have united those who truly believe in PTI’s values,” Zeeshan said, predicting that the party’s future “has never looked brighter.”
