The show's music-driven approach and focus on imaginative play make it a unique addition to the preschool programming landscape.
The series was created by Jennifer Oxley, whose credits include Peg + Cat, Wonder Pets!, and Little Bill, and developed by Guillermo García Carsí, a co-creator of Pocoyo who joined Animaj as creative director in 2023. Chen Neeman, Kat Rende, and JP Rende wrote songs for the series, adding to its musical appeal.
One interesting aspect of Ozzy Fox's release is the lack of an official press release. Instead, Animaj co-founder Sixte Vauplane took to LinkedIn to celebrate the launch, suggesting that the companies want the show's success to speak for itself. This approach is notable, given Disney's recent focus on developing original series directly with AI-driven animation companies like Animaj.
Disney has made AI central to its production model and corporate identity, and the two companies already have a commercial agreement with Lumee, a kids-focused YouTube advertising venture formed by Animaj and Hasbro Entertainment. Lumee now represents selected ad inventory across several Disney channels, including Disney Jr., Disney Kids, Star Wars Kids, Marvel HQ, and Nat Geo Kids.
Animaj has also been promoting its proprietary pipeline using AI-assisted tools, including sketch-to-pose prediction and motion in-betweening, which it claims can substantially reduce production time and costs. The company is using this pipeline for major kids' properties, including Pocoyo and Maya the Bee.
Despite the increasing use of AI in animation production, neither company has explained what role Animaj's AI tools played in making Ozzy Fox. This lack of transparency is a trend that is becoming more common as AI tools become more commonplace in studio pipelines.
